Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti
Set deep in the park with a waterhole below the terrace, wildlife visible from the room most days.
Explore Property ↗Endless Plains, Ancient Rhythms
The plain the migration calls home most of the year. The Mara is only its northern edge, on a far larger scale.
Wildebeest & Zebra
Over two million move through in the annual migration.
Lion
Prides hold territory across the open southern plains.
Cheetah
Short grass built for a full-speed hunt, nothing to hide the chase.
Leopard
Riverine forest and granite kopjes to the north and centre.
Kopje Wildlife
Rock hyrax, agama lizards, and big cats resting on sun-warmed granite.
Treeless short-grass plains to the south give way to riverine woodland and kopjes further north. The same ecosystem as the Mara, simply far larger.
Calving season falls January to March, as the migration moves north through the plains. Timing shifts with the rains each year.
